Woodridge, IL, January 22, 2008 Eurosort, a worldwide leading supplier of advanced tray sorters partnered with the The Numina Group to announce today the completion of a turn-key automated returns book processing system for American Wholesale Book Company, AWBC. The material handling and sorting system streamlines the returns process. The sorting automation system is installed at their Florence, Alabama Distribution Center.

AWBC places a high value on its personnel so when it decided to install new technology to automate the returns process, it did so with the goal of retaining its current employees by re-deploying them to other business operations. “Dedication to quality and strong employee work ethics is a key contributor to our success; we want to retain their knowledge and skills as we continue to expand said Sondra McCulley, Vice President, Operations for American Wholesale Book Company.

After considering 3 – 4 alternative sorter suppliers, AWBC selected the EuroSort-Numina Team for its sorter technology and The Numina Group’s RDS Software. “The Numina Group contributed to our decision by providing experience, robust software and practical strategies to integrate our existing WMS with our operation; improving and streamlining our process,” added Sondra McCulley.

AWBC visited installations at other book distributors where the Eurosort operated efficiently and sorted books without damage. “Seeing the sorter in operation proved the concept that both returns and store order fulfillment processes can all be handled with the same sorter technology,” continued Ms. McCulley. “The ROI can be achieved within 2 years.”
